IOCs invest US$ 1.7 Million in Surinamese Society

In 2024, the eight offshore Contractors spent US$ 1.7 million on social responsibility initiatives, primarily in education and healthcare, followed by local content. As the regulator of hydrocarbon operations in Suriname, Staatsolie Hydrocarbon Institute N.V. (SHI) strives to maximize the value of Suriname's hydrocarbon resources. This involves ensuring that our Production Sharing Contract (PSC) Operators meet their Social Responsibility Investment obligations as outlined in the PSCs. The Social Responsibility Investment Report 2024 showcases the Contractors' commitment to transparency and social responsibility, featuring their investments in local communities, sustainable development, and the health and well-being of Suriname's people.
